Training Notes and Personality

Spire has spent 3 weeks riding in the Snowies including 2 weeks in some of the toughest mountains in the High Country. He rode with a group of High Country Horsemen crossing steep mountains and fast flowing rivers. He is very happy to push all day.

On one day we went from Old Camp to Oldfields Hut, Pockets Hut, The Blue Waterholes, Coolamine Homestead, Harris (ruin) and Jones Hut all in one day. It was accompanied by bright sunshine, hail storms, rain as well as a few dingoes and even 2 brumbies. That was around 65 km and he stayed solid walking, trotting and some cantering during a day where my total contribution was walking around 5 km.

Spire was big all day and was steady in the worst conditions including breaking a trail in big storms in the heavy timber.

We have since brough him back to work in the paddock and arena.
