Training Notes and Personality

To ride Spirit is to feel the joy of a clean horse. Spirit looks like a beast BUT he has the cleanest change in cadence: from trot to hand-canter and then into a full canter and hand-gallop and then full gallop and then sprint. The best thing is that he has great steering and brakes so his rider gets a good feel for what he can do.

Spirit is sensible and steady. He is 7½ and is a very determined very honest horse who can see the jump without aids. When ridden he has feels big and this leads to confidence.

Spirit has travelled to the Snowy Mountains several times and has been ridden across lots of rivers and bogs along with extensive bridle tracks and trails. He has met numerous Brumbies, Dingoes and even wild cattle. He is always steady in all circumstances.
He started his jumping and cross country life at 65cm and has continued to impress us with his steadiness and quiet confidence.
